The Chronicles of Galen Sword Book Three
DARK HUNTER
Judith & Garfield Reeves-Stevens
There is another world.
It is the birthplace of all our nightmares. Vampires, werewolves, demons, deadly creatures that have no name or form ... they are all real.
Galen Sword was born within that world.
Destined to be adept warrior, heir to the Victor of the Greater Clan Pendragon. Yet as a child, his birthright and his memories were stolen from him, and he was exiled to a world without substance, without magic, without hope: our world.
But 20 years later a mysterious chain of events restores Galen's memory of who he is, and hints at what he might become. Now Galen will stop at nothing to find the truth -- and his home. But with no powers of his own, the only tools he can use are those of science.
The Chronicles of Galen Sword
Book I: Shifter
Book II: Nightfeeder
Book III: Dark Hunter
When clans Tepesh and Arkady unite to destroy Galen, he must forge a dangerous alliance between the vampire, Orion, and a mysterious dark hunter with a startling secret. With them, Galen at last takes his struggle through the layer to learn the truth about his return, and of an ancient mostrous enemy about to conquer both his worlds.

YOUR FEEDBACK:
*****Worth the wait? Strangely, yes
I never would have thought that ANY book would be worth a 12-year wait. Along with many other Galen fans, I felt that such a long pause between "chronicles" was inexcusable and I wanted to know the reason for that pause. Lo and behold, found in the first few pages just before chapter one of "Dark Hunter," the Reeves-Stevens' answer that question for all of us.
Strangely, they had to wait alongside us all, due to some unfortunate publisher issues and a "soft" science fiction/fantasy genre. My worst fear was that the plot and concept had become so deep that there was no way for the authors to keep the story moving with ANY continuity. That wasn't the case at all. In fact, they mention that the last line of the ninth book has been known since the first line of "Shifter" was written. The explanation in the foreword put aside all hurt feelings, then hurls us back into the First and Second worlds, reuniting us with brilliantly designed characters like Martin, Bub, Orion, and even Saul Calder.
After reading the second page in the first chapter, the last 12 years of waiting seem to disappear as we are launched back to 1990. I can almost hear Jesus Jones or EMF playing in the background!
The wait is finally over, and "Dark Hunter" lived up to my own personal hype, answering many of the unanswered questions presented by "Night Feeder." You'll learn to love Martin, despise Roth, feel bad for Ko, and begin to understand the frustrations of Dr. Forsyte. Still, like any other great novel, more questions are presented in the third chronicle that keep us anxiously expecting the fourth.
The authors promise us at the end of this book that there will not be a 12-year wait for the next chronicle. Let's hope they keep their word!

*****12 years and worth the wait!
Absolutely outstanding. I could almost leave it at that. They'll be some reading this who are looking at the price and thinking... i'll wait for the std paperback. Don't wait - this is one of the finest series around and now that we've been promised 6 more books, i just hope we get them as quickly as possible.
For those of us who have read the first 2 books, the story continues where it set off with Sword facing charges and plenty still to discover. This time around we do learn more about the first world, Galens past and the Dark Hunter - the great news i that for every question answered there's a whole world of answers still to discover - i've rarely read a book with so many twists.
Its a real page turner, providing just enough glimpses of the future without giving too much information to keep you clamouring for more.
A deep plotline, excellent characters and most importantly the series just keeps on improving - too often authors lose their way in large series, there are no worries here the books just get better and better.
Hope you enjoy it as much as i did.

*****Galen is *BACK*!
After a wait of 12 years, Galen Sword and Company returns in triumph to the First and Second Worlds. The Reeves-Stevens have promised a total of *nine* Chronicles, and if "Dark Hunter" is any clue, the rest of the story, and the final answers to many questions will be well worth the wait. Great cover art on this Trade Paperback, and Babbage Press has a deal that if you buy all three Chronicles at once, you get them cheaper AND all three are signed by the authors! Without giving away too much, we learn who the Dark Hunter really is, learn some things about Brin we surely didn't know, and see the darker side of Professor Forsythe. A real page turner, I know you will love it as much as I did. Enjoy!

*****12 years later and worth the wait.
I am happy that this 3rd book finially made it to print.
Galen is finially back, and, as expected, the book takes us on quite a romp thru the "First World". For those of us that read the first 2 books in the series this book explains plenty. I do not like reviews that give away things so I will not do so. I will say that Orion and Bub are back (my favorites) and that the series is not over! I look forward to books 4-6 and another tour de force with Galen and his exceptional crew. It is worth adding to your collection. Thanks
